1. League Trophies
Trophies shall be presented as follows:-
Asa Briggs Cup: Division 1 League Champions – 1st XI’s.
Waddilove Cup: Division 2 League Champions – 1st XI’s.
Thackeray Cup: Division 1 Champions – 2nd XI’s.
Day Cup: Division 2 Champions – 2nd XI’s.
A Memento or Certificate of Merit shall be awarded to each of the competition winners. Prizes shall be awarded to players of the winning first and second teams in each Division.
Albert Smith ‘Spirit of Cricket’ Trophy: Club award, based on combined 1st & 2nd team marks awarded for fair play, adjudicated & awarded by the Umpires throughout the season .
All trophies shall be presented by arrangement of the League Officials and held by the winning clubs until the 31st July of the following year.
Winning clubs are responsible for the return of trophies. Failure to return trophies by the 31st July will result in a fine of £10.00 per day being imposed, for each day, over and beyond the due date.
The respective winners of each Division are responsible for engraving of trophies by the League’s nominated company.
2. Individual Trophies (League Matches only.)
The following trophies shall be presented annually, together with a suitable memento :-
Batting & Bowling
Qualification :
Batting – min.12 inns + min. 300 runs:.
Bowling – min.12 games + min. 30 wkts.
First XI’s.
W H. Foster Jubilee Trophy: Batting Average – Div. 1
W H. Foster Jubilee Trophy: Bowling Average – Div. 1
Margaret E. Mallinson Trophy: Bowling Average – Div. 2
Michael C. Fearnley Memorial Trophy: Bowling Average – Div. 2
Pennine Trophy: Highest Individual score in a League match -Div.1 or 2.
John Heaton Memorial Trophy: Highest Opening Partnership –Div.1 or 2.
The Stafford Heginbotham Tebro and Castle Trophies shall be awarded to the players scoring the highest aggregate of runs and taking the highest number of wickets, respective, in any season. The runs scored and the wickets taken shall only be taken into consideration on days when both First and Second Division fixtures are due to played.
Fastest Fifty Trophy: First fifty of an innings from the least number of balls received. – Div.1 or 2.
Second XI’s
R. Park Guild Trophy: Batting Average – Div.1
J. R. Burnet. Trophy: Bowling Average – Div.1
Bruce W. Moss Trophy: Batting Average – Div. 2
W Hopkinson Trophy: Bowling Average – Div. 2
Fielding
In all cases, except where indicated, where two or more players qualify for a trophy, then the player who has played in fewer matches shall be granted the award. Should a clear winner not be determined then the trophy or trophies shall be held jointly by the players concerned, each or all holding the award for an equal period. Only matches started shall count as matches played.
A. Waddinglon Trophy: Division – 1st XI’s
Federation Trophy: Division 2 – 1st XI’s
Leslie Mollett Trophy: Division 1 or 2 – 2nd XI’s
Wicketkeeping
F. Milton-Watmough Trophy: Most victims in a season – Div. 1 -1st XI’s
Parkside Trophy: Most victims in a season – Div. 2 – 1st XI’s
G. Palfreman Trophy: Most victims in a season – Div.1 or 2 – 2nd XI’s
Stanley Longbottom “Safe Hands” Memorial Trophy: Most stumpings in a season – Div.1 or 2 – 1st XI’s
Mick Illingworth Safe Glove Trophy: Most stumpings in a season – Div.1 or 2 – 2nd XI’s
For the last two awards, should two or more players qualify, then the player who has kept wicket in fewer matches shall be granted the award. Should a clear cut winner still not have been determined, then the trophy shall be held jointly by the players concerned, each holding the trophy for an equal period.
The David Bairstow Golden Glove Trophy: Most victims in one match – Div. 1 or 2 – 1st or 2nd XI’s
In the event of two or more players being equal, the greater number of stumpings in that match shall determine the winner. If no winner has then not been determined, the trophy shall be held for an equal period by those qualifying.
Sub-Committee Panel Awards
Sir Learie Constantine Trophy: Best All Rounder – Div. 1 – 1st XI
Jack Hill Trophy: Best All Rounder – Div. 2 – 1st XI
Nominations for the following trophies should be submitted, in writing, to the Chief Executive by the end of September.
The decisions of the Sub-committee in making these awards shall be final.
Gordon Bowers Young Cricketer of the Year: Div.1 or 2 – 1st XI up to age 19/20.
Ernest Lodge Trophy: Most promising young spin bowler Div 1 or 2 – 1st XI upto age 19/20.
The Sir Leonard Hutton Trophy: This shall be presented to a person who has rendered valuable service to Bradford League cricket and has displayed outstanding qualities of leadership and personality
All individual trophies shall be presented by arrangement of the Management Board and shall be held by the recipient until August 31 of the following year.
