Umpires appointed for cup and shield finals |

Two of the JCT600 Bradford League’s most experienced umpires will take charge of this year’s Sovereign Health Care Priestley Cup final. Alan Carter and Glyn Pearson will officiate at the match between East Bierley and Manningham Mills at Spen Victoria on Sunday, August 26. Carter is the current chairman of the JCT600 Bradford League Umpires Association while Pearson was his predecessor in the role. Two long-serving players who have become successful umpires will be in the middle for the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield final between Keighley and Woodlands at Farsley, on Sunday, August 12. Les Wood, who was a successful player for many years with Yeadon will officiate along with the former Idle and Windhill player Paul Wiseman For the first time the appointments were made by the Management Board and were based on the marks given by captains over the past three seasons. Third umpires will be on duty at each of the finals for the first time. David Sutcliffe will be on duty at the Priestley Cup final, while Neil Johnson will perform the role in the Shield final. |
