.Farsley need just 17 points to win the Division One championship for a second-successive season.

There is every chance they will clinch the title next Saturday when they visit bottom team Gomersal.

Farsley, who are 44 points clear at the top with three games to play, chalked up their 13th win of the season when they defeated Bowling Old Lane by 32 runs in a high-scoring game.

Matthew Green made a sparkling 129 not out and gained support from Ben Tempest (40no) and James Higgins (33) as Farsley compiled a total of 255-3.

Old Lane made a spirited response with Fazal Hussain (73), Sajjad Hussain (53) and Asif Amir (40) all playing well, but Ryan Lumb (6-25) ensured that Farsley came out on top.

Hanging Heaton dropped to third place after suffering a defeat by six wickets against East Bierley.

John Davis (67) and Andrew Newby (34) enabled East Bierley to chase down Hanging Heaton’s 171-8.

Howard Ellis (45) and Jack Lawrence (33) top scored for Hanging Heaton while Matthew Anderson (3-47) and Wayne Robinson (3-62) were the pick of the East Bierley bowlers.
Woodlands are now second after beating Lightcliffe by two wickets.

Rob Medcalf was in good form, taking 4-37 as Lightcliffe were bowled out for 142, and making 40 as they squeezed home.

The consistent Michael Brooke top scored for Lightcliffe with 63, while Mark Whiley (3-36) was their best bowler.

George Robson (4-29) and Spencer Horsfall (3-31) helped bowl out Hartshead Moor for 134 as Morley secured a 17-run win.

Martin Ellis top scored with48 for Hartshead Moor, while Richard Winn (44) was the chief contributor to Morley’s 151.

There was no respite for the bottom two. Pudsey St Lawrence suffered a five-wicket defeat against Yeadon, while Baildon beat Gomersal by 95 runs.

St Lawrence, despite a battling 44 from skipper James Milligan, were bowled out for 90 as Nick Darfield took 3-11. Yeadon lost five wickets reaching their victory target as 13-year-old Archie Scott took 3-30.

Skipper Jamie Abbott (5-10) and Johnny Baines (3-25) bowled out Gomersal for just 72 to secure a 95-run win for Baildon. Chris Reynolds made 57 and Baines (34) in Baildon’s 167. The best of the Gomersal bowlers were Paul Huddlestone (4-56) and Ryan Kitson (3-31).

Khalid Rehman made a stunning 186 not out as promotion-chasing Saltaire piled up an impressive 312-5 in their 216-run win over Cleckheaton.

Rehman hit four sixes and 24 fours and shared in an opening partnership with veteran Javed Iqbal (48).

As if that wasn’t enough, Rehman took 4-18 as Cleckheaton were dismissed for 96. Opener Chris Dobson battled away for his side’s top score of 46.

Waj Ali took 6-10 as Bradford & Bingley bowled out Windhill for 61 to secure a 146-run win. Bradford & Bingley’s total of 207-7 was built around the contributions of  Warren Allitt (58), Patrick Dixon (48) and Adam Swallow (39). The best of the Windhill bowlers was Andy Horner with 4-71.

Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield winners Keighley maintained their late push for promotion with a 123-run win over Bankfoot. Hammy Shahzad took 5-15 as Bankfoot were rolled over for 61 in reply to Keighley’s 184.

Luke Chapman (58) and Paul Quinlan (33) were the top scorer while Ayaz Younis (6-53) was Bankfoot’s best bowler.

Spen Victoria recovered from 0-3 to defeat Idle by 119 runs. Leigh Manton (52no) and Rowland Thompson (44) led the revival which enabled Spen to make 187-8. Rob Gibson (3-56) was Idle’s best bowler.

Spinner Jerome Austin (4-3) and Stuart Houlbrook (3-32) impressed as Idle were bowled out for 119.

Sarfraz Ahmed’s 81 and Shabir Ellahi’s (4-39) helped  Great Horton to defeat Manningham Mills by 93 runs. Great Horton made 202 and dismissed their neighbours for 109.

Brighouse were unable to raise a team for their match with Pudsey Congs. Congs have been awarded 15 points. This will be subject to ratification by the Management Board when they investigate  the issue.
