Division Two leaders Bowling Old Lane are celebrating reaching the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield final.

They defeated old rivals Great Horton by eight-wickets and will be bidding to win the trophy for the first time since 1975 when they face last season's beaten finalists East Bierley at Pudsey Congs on August 6.

Old Lane won their semi-final with some ease thanks to the efforts of Ammir Rahim. He took six for nine as Great Horton were dismissed for 97.

Great Horton lost their last eight wickets for 16 runs once Rahim went to work. Opener Mohammed Daud battled hard and was the last man out for 44. Asif Mughal (29) was the only other batsman to make double figures.

When Old Lane batted they lost two early wickets to Numan Ahsan before Haqueeq Siddique (35no) and Fahid Rehman (33no) steered them home with an unbeaten stand of 73.

East Bierley reached their third successive final when they defeated Woodlands by two wickets.

Woodlands made 184 batting first with Greg Godfrey hitting 51 and Michael Pearson (30). John Glover was the pick of the bowlers with three for 48.

Despite numerous rain interruptions, East Bierley managed to clinch their final place by making 187 for eight. Leigh Abbott top scored with 37 as his side held off the threat of Robert Medcalf (4-49) to triumph.
