Bowling Old Lane clinched the final place in the quarter-finals of the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield when they defeated Windhill by 108 runs in their delayed second round tie.
Old Lane recovered from being ten for two to post an impressive total of 288 for six. Amar Rahim (92), Haqueeq Siddique (80) and Khalid Rehman (76) all played important knocks for their side.
Windhill started brightly in reply with Richard Carr (42) and Peter Nicholls (34) sharing a first-wicket partnership of 87, but the innings faded away after they were parted with only Greg Wilkinson (35) making any real impression.
Siddique (3-28) and Adeel Mir (3-38) were the most successful bowlers for Old Lane who will be away to Pudsey Congs in the next round on June 18.
