The Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield holders East Bierley will face Yeadon who defeated them in the 2005 final, in the semi-finals of this season's competition.

East Bierley cruised into the semi-finals with a comfortable 73-run win over Farsley, but Yeadon were made to fight all the way for their two-wicket win over Spen Victoria which was only secured with two balls to spare.

Skipper Matt Anderson, the man who lifted the trophy aloft last August, made 56 and received good support from Damian Glover (43no) as East Bierley made 200-8 batting first. Adam Walker was the pick of the Farsley bowlers with three for 19.

Farsley struggled against East Bierley's opening bowlers Dan Abbott (4-23) and Chris Brook (3-25) as they were dismissed for 127. Young Joe Greaves battled hard for a fine 57.

Yeadon might have thought they were in for an early finish when they dismissed Spen Victoria for just 91 as Richard Wood took three for 11 and John Carey (3-23). Spen's top scorers were Leigh Manton (24) and skipper Mark Loker (22).

Yeadon also found runs hard to come by and they needed an unbeaten 23 from number ten Nick Darfield to see them home. John Ireland (2-16), Chris Hester (2-21) and Tom Sharp (1-11) made Yeadon fight for every run.

Undercliffe are the only Division Two side through to the semi-finals. They beat Division One side Hanging Heaton by 35 runs with Simon Medd taking six for 30 as they dismissed their rivals for 140,

Hanging Heaton's score would have been considerable poorer if they had not been boosted by a ninth wicket stand of 78 by Michael Horner (46) and Peter Byrne (29no).

Undercliffe made 175-9 in their innings with opener Jed Din hitting 49 as they posted what proved to be a winning total.

Undercliffe will be away to defending Second Teams Division One champions Woodlands in the semi-finals on August 12.

Woodlands defeated Gomersal by seven wickets with Tom Smallwood (39no) and Cieran Garner (38) steering their side past the disappointing Gomersal score of 126. Harry Smallwood was the pick of the Woodlands bowlers with three for 16. Alan Sumner (37) top scored for Gomersal.
