Much-traveled Bradford League all-rounder has died
Keith Illingworth, who scored over 5,000 Bradford League runs and took 488 wickets during a 27-year career with seven different clubs, has died after a long battle with cancer. His son Richard, now a First Class umpire, was a left arm spinner with Worcester and England.

St Lawrence official wins prestigious Sir Leonard Hutton Award
Pudsey St Lawrence stalwart Tony Moore lifted the Sir Leonard Hutton Award at the annual dinner. East Bierley's second team captain Matthew Anderson was voted the JCT 600 Players' Player of the Year while the new JCT 600 Unsung Hero Award went to webmaster Mike Baker.

JCT 600 approve two-year extension to sponsorship deal
Chairman Graham Reid announced at the annual general meeting that JCT 600 have agreed a two-year extension to their sponsorship of the Bradford League. He also revealed that Sovereign Health Care would continue their 12-year sponsorship of the Priestley Cup and Shield,

Three new rules approved at 106th Annual General Meeting
Three new rules were approved at the Annual General Meeting. The Management Board were given approval to set the rules for the Sovereign Health Care Priestley Cup and Shield and notify them to the club before the start of the season. They were given similar powers to agree the method for transmitting match results. The other rule change to win approval was one which varies the number of overs which can be lost from 50 to 60 before a match cannot commence.

Guidance on the new rules for Managed Migration
All clubs wanting to engage an overseas player for 2009 need to study the new guidance produced by the Yorkshire Cricket Board. The New points-based system requires clubs to obtain a 'sponsor licence' in order to bring over players and coaches from outside the EU into this country to work and this licence is obtained from the UK Borders Agency.
