All clubs competing in this season's Solly Sports Heavy Woollen Cup and Crowther Club have been warned to abide by the recent ECB directives governing young players.

Competition president Dave Sharp said: "The safety and welfare of young players is a concern to us all and it is imperative that club officials, captains and umpires are fully aware of their responsibilities.

"Clubs are paricularly reminded that they must have written parental consent for players under-13 and that any under-11 needs both parental permission and the approval of the competition to allow them to play. "
