Clubs elect a new president at pre-season meeting

Philip Radcliffe was elected as the new president of the Heavy Woollen Competition at the pre-season meeting at Gomersal.

He was voted in unanimously as replacement for David Sharp who announced his resignation last month.

Radcliffe is an experienced cricket administrator. He is a director of the Yorkshire Cricket Board, chairman of the Bradford branch of the ECBACO and treasurer of the Bradford Junior League.

For many years he has umpired in the Bradford League and had the honour of officiating at the 12th anniversary Heavy Woollen Cup final in 2008

After taking up his new office he said: "I thank the clubs for electing me. This is an honour and I look forward to working for the competition."
