| Man of the match Andy Ivill |
Barnsley clinched their fourth Solly Sports Crowther Cup final triumph in five seasons with a crushing nine-wicket win over Wakefield Thornes at Morley.
Their bowlers exerted a stranglehold on the game from the start and took advantage of some disappointing Thornes batting.
The game was effectively over as a contest once Thornes had been reduced to 26-4 as Andrew Ivill took 3-17 in an impressive opening burst which was to earn him the man of the match award.
The Central Yorkshire League side looked nervous and Barnsley seized the opportunity to take the game by the scruff of the neck.
Fifteen-year-old Tom Goldby-West 4-17 and Jamie Green (2-17) maintained the pressure as Thornes were bowled out for just 82.
Opener Sam Butterworth top scored with 20, while Rob Stephenson (15) and Umar Mirza (14no) were the only other batsmen to offer hope of posting a reasonable score.
There was nothing in the wicket to suggest the side batting first should be bowled out for such a low score. Thornes had only themselves to blame.
Barnsley showed there were no hidden demons in the pitch as they raced to their target in16.4 overs with opener Peter Hadfield making 46mo.
The only wicket to fall was that of Jamie Green (20) after an opening stand of 65.
