Pudsey St Lawrence became the first time to clinch their place in the floodlit stages of the the competition with a thrilling four-run win over Pudsey Congs.
They now have five wins to their name but they were made to work hard for their latest success.
Mark Robertshaw (47no) and Chris Hester (23) helped St Lawrence to a score of 136-4.
Pudsey Congs looked in deep trouble at 40-4, but youngsters Callum Oliver (57no) and Andy Slater (32no) had other ideas. They shared an unbroken stand of 92 which came close to giving their side victory.
Hanging Heaton went to the top of Group 3 when they defeated Morley by two wickets in a thrilling match at Scatcherd Lane.
Hanging Heaton secured their fifth win in six matches with just one ball of the final over to spare.
Nabeel Hafeez continued his recent good form with 53 as the visitors edged past Morley's score of 146-4.
There was a most unlikely bowling star for Morley. Normal wicketkeeper Michael Cooper took five for 22 - including a hat-trick - with his slow left-armers.
Big-hitting Richard Winn (42) provided the bulk of Morley's runs when they batted first in fron to a sizeable home crowd.
Gomersal are now level on points with second-placed Bankfoot but trail them by virtue of an inferior run difference.
Zaheer Hussain hit 80 not out and Ben Platt (73) as Gomersal made 229-6 before dismissing Spen Victoria for 115. Matthew West was the pick of the Spen batsmen with 51.
Rain forced the abandonment of the matches between Group 2 leaders Bradford & Bingley and second placed Saltaire and the Group 1 encounter between Idle and Manningham Mills.
Yeadon climbed above Saltaire into second place in Group 2 after beating Baildon by 12 runs.
Yeadon looked in trouble at 35-5 but recovered to make 115 all out with Dan Shuffe hitting 48. Jonny Reynolds was the most successful bowler with three for eight while off spinner Harry Smallwood had the impressive figures of one for five from four overs.
Reynolds (23) and Craig Hiotchenor (22) gave Baildon a solid start with an openinhg stand of 46 in 8.2 overs, but Baildon failed to cash in and finished on 103-6.
Group 4 leaders East Bierley were given a walkover when their opponents Brighouse consider it unsafe to field a side loaded with juniors.
Second-placed Cleckheaton strengthened their challenge for a place in the quarter-finals with a 14-run win over Hartshead Moor.
Tom Pringle made an unbeaten 51 while former Hartshead Moor player Ian Wardlaw blasted 41 feom 15 balls as Cleckheaton made 176-5.
Hartshead Moor were in the hunt while Aussie Lachlan Hall and Danny Squire (42) were together but after both were run out Cleckheaton took charge and restricted the visitors to 162-9. |
