Players and officials of Baildon have been saddened by news of the death of their loyal club official Tony Reed.

Tony, 62, passed away in a hospice on Monday after a two-year battle with Motor Neurons disease.

He was a hugely popular figure not just at Jenny Lane where he served as junior chairman, committeeman, secretary and groundsman.

It was his work on the ground which won him and his club many admirers and his cheery disposition was always appreciated by players, officials and spectators of rival clubs.

Baildon official Mick Illingworth, a member of the JCT 600 Bradford League Management Board, said: "The club has lost a great friend. Our thoughts at this time are with his wife Jill, and his sons Chris and Matthew."

Tony's funeral will take place at Nab Wood Crematorium at 1.20pm on Monday. There will be refreshments afterwards at Baildon Cricket Club's Jenny Lane clubhouse.
