John Rickers produced an outstanding all-round performance as Solly Sports Central Yorkshire League champions Townville ended Woodlands' bid to win the Black Sheep Champions Trophy for the third successive year.
Rickers took five for six in nine overs as Woodlands were dismissed for 87. They plunged to 49-8 at one point before Safraz Ahmed provided a late flurry with 31.
When Townville batted they also found runscoring difficult on a testing pitch. They collapsed to 56-8 and it looked as if Woodlands were going to pull off a dramatic win, but skipper Rickers had other ideas.
Coming in at number 10 he made an unbeaten 26 as Townville secured a two-wicket win. Rickers sealed the victory with a six.
The victory provided consolation for Townville's defeat by Woodlands in the 2006 final. They will now be at home to Dreakes Huddersfield League champions Honley in the semi-finals.
