Farsley continue their revival by beating Esholt

Second-placed Esholt felt the full force of Farsley's revival in the JCT 600 Bradford League Second Teams Division One.

Esholt were skittled for just 57 as Terry Staniforth took four for ten and Harpal Ryatt (2-14), then Ryatt made an unbeaten 27 as Farsley secured an eight-wicket win - their third in successive games.

East Bierley cashed in on Esholt's slip up. They beat lowly Lightcliffe by 66 runs to extend their lead to 48 points. Gareth Davis (57) and Leigh Abbott (56) were the cornerstones of East Bierley's score of 165 all out. Ramsay Al-Chalaby took six for 58 for Lightcliffe.

When Lightcliffe replied they were bowled out for 99, despite a defiant 39 not out from Richard Powe. Paceman Chris Brook continued his good form with six for 46 while skipper Matt Anderson took three for one.

Woodlands dropped from third to fifth after losing by five wickets to Pudsey Congs. Woodlands were dismissed for just 92 as Callum Oliver took six for 28. Oliver then twisted the knife a bit further by making 32 not out as Congs secured victory.

Cleckheaton are now third after an emphatic eight-wicket win over Pudsey St Lawrence. Opener Marcus Walmsley maintained his good form with an unbeaten 64 while Chris Dobson hit 50 as Cleckheaton overhauled a St Lawrence total of 151-9. Spinner Edward Walmsley took six for 24 for Cleckheaton.

Yeadon moved into fourth position after a 90 run win over Keighley. Jake Wray hit five sixes and ten fours as he made 104 - the day's only century - as his side made 183 despite the efforts of Nicholas Robinson (5-15). Keighley were dismissed for 93 as Paul Machel took five for 15.

Baildon eased their relegation worries and added to Spen Victoria's as they secured a 93-run win. James Butterfield (59) and Mohammad Nawaz (52) helped Baildon to make 203-9 despite the best efforts of Faisal Rajput (5-51). Spen, despite 53 from opener Matthew Speck, were dismissed for 110. Mohammad Nawaz took four for 20 and Jamie Abbott (4-23).

Umar Rehman took seven for 28 to help under-strength Hanging Heaton as they defeated Bowling Old Lane by 45 runs. Old Lane were dismissed for 162 in reply to Hanging Heaton's total od 207-6 which was boosted by 55 not out from Michael Horner.

Leaders Bradford & Bingley maintained their position at the top of Division Two with a four-wicket win over Great Horton. Adam Swallow (3-18) and Danny Trowers (3-40) helped dismiss Great Horton for 149. Bradford & Bingley, despite a mid-innings wobble, reached their victory target with six wickets down. Rob Dunn top scored with 33.

Second-placed Morley defeated Saltaire by seven wickets. Thirteen-year-old opener James McNichol made 41 as Morley were dismissed for 128. Another promising youngster, Matthew Dowse, took four for 23 as Saltaire perished for 121.

Morley are nine points behind Bradford & Bingley and a similar margin ahead of third-placed Undercliffe who beat Idle by six wickets. Sonny Matharu (4-20) and Andy Wilsdon (3-9) dismissed Idle for just 79. Sofian Khan made 36 as Undercliffe eased to victory.

Windhill picked up a maximum 20 points as they thrashed Brighouse by 200 runs. Andy Evans (87) and Richard Clow (52no) enabled Windhill to post a score of 236-7. Brighouse were dismissed ofr just 36 as Dave Pearce took five for five and Danny McGuire (5-31).

Gomersal's recent good run came to an abrupt halt as they suffered a 123-run defeat at Manningham Mills. Gomersal were bowled out for 96 in reply to a Mills score of 219-9 which was built on the efforts of Nadeem Mumtaz (65), Mohammad Faisal (51) and Waqas Iqbal (37).
