Bradford & Bingley have celebrated the opening of their refurbished indoor nets. JCT 600 Bradford League president Keith Moss performed the official opening today.
A team of 40 dedicated club workers put in hours of work to bring the nets back into use.
The club have installed new netting and lighting as well as creating a new entrance and a changing area.
Bradford & Bingley chairman Richard Robinson paid tribute to the volunteer helpers who had made such a huge contribution to the scheme.
He said: "They turned up at unearthly hours to carry out painting and various other tasks. They were magnificent and along with the sponsors who gave us such wonderful support, they enabled us to bring this facility back into use.
"Two years ago the magnificent efforts of our club members enabled us to refurbish our pavilion after a fire, now we have brought the indoor nets back into use, our next aim is to make improvements to our ground."
Bradford & Bingley club coach Paul Meredith said: "It is wonderful that we now have the nets back in use. It is a great resource for our club and I am delighted that other clubs are using it too. Saltaire, Eldwick & Gilstead, Harden and Bingley Congs have all brought their juniors down to practice."
Bradford League president Keith Moss, who cut the ribbon to officially open the nets, said: "I seem to be making something of a habit of coming to Bradford & Bingley to open facilities early in the season.
"Two years ago I was here for the re-opening of the refurbished pavilion and changing rooms, today I am delighted to be here for the opening of the refurbished nets.
"This sort of scheme would not have been possible without the support of the club members and it demonstrates the strength of the club. The Bradford League is proud to have a club of Bradford & Bingley's standing as a member and they certainly enhance our competition."
