| Chairman John Brooke replaces putty in one of the Lightcliffe pavilion windows |
At Lightcliffe the ground was a hive of activity yesterday with club members apply a lick of paint to the pavilion and scorebox as well as working on the ground.
Those involved ranged from the club chairman John Brooke and members of his committee down to members of the junior section.
Lightcliffe groundsman Rod Heyhoe, who is a club representative on the JCT Bradford League 600 Management Board, said: "We have had a very good response from the club members.
"Everybody seems to be enjoying themselves and the place is certainly looking lovely with a new lick of paint."
The playing surface has also recovered remarkably well after the invasion from a herd of cows in the autumn which resulted in damage to both the wicket and the outfield.
Heyhoe said: "I could have cried at the time but thankfully there doesn't seem to be any lasting damage. There are a few marks where the cows slithered around but nothing serious."
